Tranexamic Acid 500mg and Mefenamic Acid 250mg Tablets

Category:

Tranexamic acid and Mefenamic acid Tablets are under the brand name “SVISNEXA-MF” and are a combination drug commonly used to treat heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia) and pain. Tranexamic acid is an antifibrinolytic drug that prevents the breakdown of blood clots in a bid to control bleeding. It does so by preventing the formation of plasmin, an enzyme used in the lysis of clots and contributing to clotting. Mefenamic acid, however, is an NSAID and helps in achieving relief from menstrual cramps by suppressing inflammation and limiting prostaglandin synthesis, which is significant in inducing cramps.

Tranexamic acid and Mefenamic acid Tablets are particularly beneficial for women with heavy bleeding and dysmenorrhea since this drug acts in two directions. It also decreases menstruation blood loss and pain; this acts in congruence with mefenamic acid, which possesses analgesic properties in eliminating cramps, headaches, and any other inconvenience that may accompany monthly periods.

Medical Benefits

  • Tranexamic acid is also beneficial in the management of menstrual blood loss in menorrhagia.
  • Mefenamic acid aids in alleviating menstrual aches and discomfort, thus providing relief during the menstrual period.
